Did you know that the smallest Greek chapel in southern Africa is in Onrus?

The society aims to bring the history of Hermanus alive to residents and visitors. Inaugurated in May  2012 has employed a variety of ways to fulfil the above aims- creating a membership base who have regular meetings and site visits to learn about local history. 24 projects have been undertaken 14 completed.

History stories, research undertaken and books published informing readers about Hermanus within the Overberg.  In collaboration with the municipality 8 historical plaques are in place and 2 history boards erected at Hermanus Pietersfontein site (Marine Drive) area and Die Gang along cliff path west of Kwaaiwater.
