The Hermanus History Society experienced a stimulating visit to Maanschijn, site of an artisanal wine production situated inside a heritage building and below Maanschynkop and near the Klein Rivier lagoon. Winemakers Douglas Mylrea and Paul Hoogwerf ferment low intervention wines which are distinctly South African.

Doug and Paul  entertained us with the story of the founding of their wine- company and the history of this unique building. There will be an opportunity to taste and purchase wine. We will publish the history on the website at a future date
