This meeting took the form of an excursion along the Hermanus Biodiversity Walk, which includes several locations of historical interest. It was also an opportunity for members to experience the “VoiceMap” process of guided walks, through a recorded commentary that is received on a cell-phone. Those who could not use the voicemap were provided with a written script. When the walk was completed members had an opportunity to give an evaluation of the walk and commentary.
This will be passed on to the Cliff Path Management Group which is responsible for the entire Cliff Path, including the Biodiversity Walk. It will be an opportunity to learn from participants whether history walks could be similarly organised.
